Abstract

Idiopathic localized hemifacial atrophy or Parry-Romberg syndrome is a rare, autoimmune disease of unknown etiology, characterized by unilateral progressive atrophy of the face, which may involve the subcutaneous tissue, muscle, and bone. It may result in severe facial asymmetry. In the inactive, stabile stage, after the progression of the atrophy, aesthetic treatments (fat transplantation, lipo injection, botulinum toxin, fillers) can greatly improve the quality of life of patients. In our case report, we would like to present two patients in whom we successfully corrected the asymmetry caused by the disease with hyaluronic acid volume replacement and other aesthetic treatments, thus greatly improving the quality of life of these patients.
