Abstract

For successful survival and development, embryo has to perform a lot of functions; to tolerate hypoxia is one of the critical events. Heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) is a hypoxia-induced carbon oxide (CO)-generating enzyme that plays the roles in cell proliferation, prevent apoptosis, prolong transplantation survival, and induce angiogenesis. HO-1 has been found to be up-regulated at hatching stage in mouse blastocyst. In this study, the transcript profiling and the role of HO-1 in pre-implantation mouse embryo development were studied.
