Abstract

Microvenular hemangioma is an uncommon, benign, acquired vascular tumour which usually occurs as a solitary purple to red plaque o papule in the extremities and trunk of young adults, more frequently in women. Histologically, these tumours are characterized by a proliferation of small blood vessels throughout the dermis, with an infiltrative growth but without endothelial atypia. Immunohistochemistry shows positivity for vascular markers. Histopathology and clinical features are required to confirm the diagnosis and to exclude well differentiated sarcomas and other benign vascular lesions. We report three new cases and review the literature
