Abstract
OUR consultant editor Jenny Barber unwittingly stumbled upon a volcano when she discovered from CACHE in June that the title ‘nursery nurse’ was to be dropped in favour of ‘classroom assistant’ or ‘nursery assistant’. Little did she or we know the extent of the passions that would be unleashed by this hamfisted decision which emanates from the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority's desire to change the Diploma in Nursery Nursing to the Diploma in Childcare and Education.
