Abstract

DALLAS — If your institution's goal is to improve the completion rate, the course schedule could be an effective tool for achieving success. Changing how your institution creates the course schedule involves both cultural and technological change. A panel at the American Association of Community Colleges annual convention explained how several colleges have achieved success with schedule changes. Speakers were Janice Taylor Heard, dean of academic affairs at Cuyahoga Community College; Michael Voss, dean of instruction, career and technical programs at Mesa Community College; Matilda Chavez, interim vice president of learning at South Mountain Community College; and James Canniff, provost and vice president of academic and student affairs at Bunker Hill Community College.
