Abstract Editors' note: The syllabuses published were compiled in full accordance with the mathematics curricula approved by the Ministry of Education of the USSR for grades five through eight of the eight-year school and grades nine and ten of intermediate school for the 1970-71 school year. In using these syllabuses in his work, the teacher must keep in mind that they are coordinated with those for the second half of the 1969-70 year and should consider the comments made concerning those (see Matematika v shkole [Mathematics in School], 1969, No. 6).
