Abstract

Since the discovery of Helicobacter pylori, there have been many studies that demonstrate the role of H. pylori infection in extragastric disease. Several studies show that H. pylori infection seems to be associated with cardiovascular disease such as atherosclerosis, ischemic heart disease and myocardial infarction. However, other studies show opposite results. Therefore more studies are needed to clarify the role of H. pylori infection in cardiovascular disease.
