Abstract

Although blood stream infection with Helicobacter cinaedi has been described in immunocompromised hosts, H. cinaedi infection has only been rarely reported among HIV-infected patients. We describe a series of patients seen at our institution with H. cinaedi bacteremia and review the clinical presentations and epidemiological characteristics of the previously HIV-related reported cases of H. cinaedi bacteremia in the literature between 1982 and 2005.
