Abstract

Heidi Larson is no stranger to opposition. Some in the health community took time to recognise the relevance of her work on vaccine hesitancy. Professor of Anthropology, Risk and Decision Science at the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at the UK's London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), Larson is the founder and Director of the Vaccine Confidence Project (VCP). A key research focus of the VCP is developing an early warning system to detect, monitor, and analyse waning public confidence in vaccines.
