Abstract
El presente artículo busca reconstruir la discusión entre mecanicismo y vitalismo en la que se inserta Heidegger, a partir de algunas de las referencias explícitas que él hace sobre Wilhelm Roux y Hans Driesch en la lección Los conceptos fundamentales de la metafísica. Mundo, finitud, soledad 1929/30. Más específicamente, mi objetivo es reconocer y analizar las principales tesis de W. Roux y H. Driesch. Ellas son utilizadas por Heidegger para esclarecer la esencia del animal a partir del tratamiento de la noción de «organismo».
