Abstract
The iperactivation of self-renewal mechanisms, like Hedgehog (HH) pathway, which govern the refuel of MM neoplastic clone, might be critical to the disease recurrence. Most of the current knowledge on MM pathogenesis is mainly based on the CD138+ cells molecular characterization, but recent evidences point up the role of the more immature CD19+ precursor clones.
