Abstract

We present a model based on quantum chromodynamics for calculating the production of particles containing heavy quarks. The production of heavy quarks is due to two-gluon annihilation. Soft-gluon emission is assumed to create a random-phase situation. For $D$, $B$, and $K$ mesons we calculate transversemomentum distributions.
