Abstract

The decrease in the spin-orbit (SO) interaction with increasing number of chlorine atoms in molecules of dibenzo-p-dioxine derivatives is found and explained. The heavy atom effect on components of the rate constant of phosphorescence kph=kSO+kVSO related to SO and vibronic-spin-orbit (VSO) interactions is quantitatively estimated.
