Abstract

SynopsisThe amount of heaving during the winter and early spring was related to soil temperature changes as well as the uniformity and density of plant cover. Heaving damage to Ladino clover closely paralleled the upward movement of wooden dowels placed in the plot area. Other established forage species tested were not affected by this frost action.
