Abstract

A method for annealing stator magnetic circuits of 2011, 2012, and 2013 steels for series 4A56 motors by using induction heating of the welded packets in air atmosphere has been developed. The machine capacity is up to 160 kg/hr, the power 50 kW, and the current frequency 2.4 kHz. Consumption of electric power does not exceed 0.3 kWh/kg. Savings were realized by reducing heat treat cycle costs to a tenth, decreasing capital expenditures for space and equipment, automating production of electric motors and improving characteristics of the motors.
