Abstract

The evolution of an inhomogeneous spherically symmetric cosmological model proposed by Modak is analysed assuming a generalized heat transport equation. Analytical solutions are found after adopting reasonable expressions for the coefficient of heat conductivity and relaxation time. In one of the cases the expanding universe geometry tends to a quasi-flat Friedmann--Robertson--Walker one. The physical behaviour of such a universe is analysed together with the energy conditions.
