Abstract

Heat transfer during nucleate and film boiling of helium and also the boiling crises up to relative accelerations of (1 ÷ 2) × 10 3 have been investigated. The heat transfer surface was a flat copper heater. The heat transfer during nucleate boiling proved to be independent of the relative accelerations. For film boiling, it was found that α ∼ η 1 3 . The dependence of the peak nucleate boiling heat flux and the minimum film boiling flux on the relative acceleration is non-monotonic.
