Abstract

The effects of the Hall and the ion slip currents on forced convective heat transfer in the thermal entrance region of a magnetohydrodynamic channel have been analysed by solving the energy equation as an eigenvalue problem. Both the generator and the accelerator modes are discussed. It is found that the heat transfer rates are reduced due to these currents.
