Abstract

The phenomena of steam dissociation at high temperatures and associated heat transfer have been explored in this paper. The superposition method based on the concept that total heat transfer is the sum of heat transferred to chemically non-reacting gases and the transfer of heat due to mass transfer of species in the gas mixture is proposed. A novel methodology and computational procedure for predicting properties and heat transfer in a turbulent tube flow for dissociated steam are presented.
