Abstract
The heat flux due to poloidally varying electrostatic potential is calculated in the banana regime. This electrostatic potential determined self-consistently from charge neutrality is shown to increase the electron heat flux by a factor √mi/me compared with that when this potential is neglected, where me and mi are the masses of electron and ion, respectively.
