Abstract

Heat capacity of PrCo2Si2 is reported. This compound exhibits complicated magnetic phase transitions with increasing temperature, first from the commensurate structure with a wavevector Q1=(0, 0, 1) to a high-order commensurate structure with Q2=(0, 0, 13/14) at T1=9.6 K and to a structure with Q3=(0, 0, 7/9) at T2=16.4 K and then to a paramagnetic state at T3=29.7 K (=TN). Magnetic contribution to the heat capacity has been evaluated in terms of the molecular field calculations including the crystal-field interaction.
