Abstract

In this paper, we synthesized a superconducting cuprate YBa2Cu3O7 by a solid-state reaction. Morphology and chemical composition were studied using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). Lattice parameters were refined by Rietveld analysis based on obtained XRD data. Thermal behavior was studied by simultaneous thermal analysis (STA), low-temperature heat capacity measurement was performed by physical property measurement system (PPMS) and drop calorimetry was used to obtain the relative enthalpy increments. The temperature dependence of the molar heat capacity above the room temperature was derived by simultaneous least squares method from heat capacity data obtained from PPMS and enthalpy increments data.
