Abstract

Heat capacities and densities of liquid o-xylene, m-xylene, p -xylene, and ethylbenzene have been measured at temperatures from 318.15 K to 373.15 K and at pressures up to 10 MPa using a d.s.c. and a vibrating-tube densimeter, respectively. Molar heat capacities C p, m and molar volumes V m (derived from densities) have been fitted simultaneously as double power series satisfying the relation: (∂ C p, m /∂ p) T = - T(∂ V m/∂ T 2) p . The results have been compared with literature values.
