Abstract

In the cardiac ultrasound era, cardiac murmurs are one of the most frequent causes of referral to a pediatric cardiologist. However, most of the cardiac murmurs in children are benign. This study represents an overall approach by highlighting the main characteristics of innocent murmurs that do not require further investigations, in comparison to those in which is compulsory to perform a cardiac ultrasound. Moreover, cardiac murmurs were classified according to their localization and child’s age.
