Abstract

Heart lymph flow increased three to ten times after infusion of thrombin in dogs in whom fibrinolysis had been inhibited, indicating an increased rate of fluid loss from the coronary microcirculation a few hours after the onset of intravascular coagulation. Aspartate aminotransferase (AAT=GOT) activity in heart lymph decreased after thrombin infusion, indicating that severe myocardial cell damage had not occurred within the first seven hours after thrombin infusion.
