Abstract

To the Editor: Dermatologic conditions are highly prevalent among the homeless population,1 which includes up to 568,000 Americans on a single night.2 Persons experiencing homelessness encounter numerous barriers to obtaining health care, and many homeless women are additionally burdened by a history of sexual and/or physical abuse.3 Daily stress and low self-esteem can prevent women experiencing homelessness from engaging in self-care practices and seeking medical attention that is critical for skin health.
