Abstract

This study identified disciplinary responsibility and referral patterns for patients with chronic wounds in a combined hospital and community NHS trust in south London. Results show that nurses are aware of the benefits of a multidisciplinary approach but that there are significant differences between care settings in access to other professionals and in the autonomy afforded nurses, with implications for patient care.
