Abstract
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the health-related quality of life by age among older Korean women with osteoarthritis. Methods : This study design was secondary data analysis from the fifth KNHANES. The subjects were 790 Korean women with osteoarthritis over the aged 65. Data were analyzed with SPSS 21.0 using complex survey data analysis methods. Results : The health-related characteristics such as restriction of activity, sleeping time, BMI, waist circumference and walking were shown significant differences between youngold and old-old. Also there were significant differences in the EQ-5D index, mobility, self-care and daily living between young-old and old-old. Perceived health status, restriction of activity, and physical activity influenced on health-related quality of life both young-old and old-old. Conclusion : Based on the results, it is suggested that the health care providers should consider perceived health status, restriction of activity, and physical activity when they plan to design program for the improvement of health-related quality of life for both young-old and old-old women with osteoarthritis.
