Abstract

Healthcare is an intrinsic human need around the world. In modern times, the demand for healthcare services is on the rise, given a large aging population, longer life expectancies, a high incidence of individuals living with chronic diseases such as diabetes or heart disease, and a higher focus on prevention and quality of life. Along with the growing and increased demands on healthcare, the cost of healthcare is also on the rise. Consumers, employers, and governments continue to see the financial burden of healthcare grow faster than their incomes or revenues.
