Abstract
Data are the biggest asset of any organization. In turn, data play an important role globally, particularly in this digital era. The progress of the entire world is based on its healthy people. Their health can refer to their physical or mental health. Healthcare data play a vital part in day-to-day human life. The correct insight and a deep view of healthcare data carried out at the correct time from the appropriate data contribute to the wellbeing and health of the world’s population. Healthcare data are available from many sources, such as Electronic Health Records (EHR), laboratory reports, doctor’s prescriptions, forms filled in by the patient in the hospital, consultant’s reports from various specialists in the medical field, and the data from the health insurance department. These data are unstructured and in different formats. All these must be integrated, cleaned, transformed, and stored in a data warehouse to obtain a better insight of the data. These healthcare data are analyzed by the researchers and doctors to identify seasonal infections, the common diseases in the population, and the causes of these patterns. This will lead to the prevention of the diseases; as the quote goes, “Prevention is better than cure”. At the same time, data from the same warehouse can be analyzed to determine the population of patients on a regional basis, to recommend the construction of clinics/hospitals, and to recommend solutions for improving user/patient experiences. The report generated by data analytic tools will help the insurance agent to plan well ahead. This chapter focuses on collecting, integrating, transforming, and analyzing relevant data, using a business intelligence tool. Microsoft Power-BI is the business intelligence tool used in this chapter to report the actionable points for the benefit of society or for the profit of business. This business intelligence tool can be used to deliver reports in any format of our choice to allow visualization, so that correct decisions can be made at the appropriate time, to lead to a better and healthier environment. AutoML is an automated machine learning algorithm incorporated in Power-BI, that can be used for classification, clustering, and regression of the collected data from EHR. It helps to identify and handle outlier data. Hence, it could be used for the prediction of infectious diseases and to develop a recommendation system.
