Abstract

Subject. This article discusses the issues of State policy in the field of healthcare, the problems of increasing life expectancy, and the development of a network of medical institutions in the regions of Russia. Objectives. The article aims to analyze some quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the current system of medical care in Russia. Methods. For the study, we used the methods of statistical and correlation analyses. Results. The article finds that the inequality of the elderly in health is due to regional differences in the efficiency of the functioning of medical institutions. Conclusions. Significant differences in the availability of medical care across the constituent entities of the Russian Federation hinder the successful implementation of projects aimed at solving the country's demographic problems.
