Abstract

This is unfortunate for health promotion’s development. Ways and means must be found to broaden the published literature so that knowledge about health promotion’s most effective approaches is widely disseminated, regardless of the culture and language of those who produce the knowledge. The International Union for Health Promotion and Education is taking leadership in addressing this challenge, through four concrete initiatives: (1) global dissemination of the IUHPE’s framework for assessing health promotion’s effectiveness; (2) expansion of languages used in its journal Promotion & Education (PE (3) collaboration of the journals PE (4) production and publication of the book Essential Readings in Health Promotion, that will include contributions from every region of the world.
