Abstract

The screening rate for colorectal cancer (CRC) remains below goal despite being preventable and curable if detected earlier. The reasons include uninsured status, access to primary care in ethnic minorities, low health literacy, and perceived misconceptions related to different CRC screening methods, among many others [1]. Low health literacy is one of the many potential barriers contributing to the subpar colorectal cancer (CRC) screening rate. Therefore, we hypothesized to test whether health literacy is significantly related to different modalities of CRC screening available.
