The book has twenty chapters dealing with health as a social accomplishment, health as a social problem, nutrition and health, excretion and health, exercise and body mechanics, fatigue and rest, mental health and disease, heredity and eugenics, infection and immunity, chronic and degenerative disorders, habit forming substances, the care of special organs, safety, health and physical environment, health services and facilities, family health, school health, occupational health, community health services and trends and probabilities. There is a bibliography and an author index and a subject index. In each chapter are varying numbers of excerpts of different length from publications of many agencies and by numerous authors. A typical section is that of chapter I, which deals with health as a social accomplishment.
