Abstract
This article addresses the need for health education programs tailored to meet the needs of the developmentally disabled. Educational aspects of prevention of developmental disabilities are discussed. Tailoring of health assessment and educational techniques for the developmentally disabled is discussed and recommended. In addition, the need for training of professionals who work with the developmentally disabled is defined and encouraged.
