Abstract

The Great Rivers Partners for Health-e People (GRPHP) health literacy awareness project took place between March 2008 and December 2009 in the counties of southwestern Wisconsin, southeastern Minnesota, and northeastern Iowa. This community collaborative funded by a subcontract from the National Library of Medicine brought health literacy awareness to health care professionals, health professions students, and consumers via Web-based programming and instructor-led sessions. This awareness project also included a qualitative investigation of the use of iPods, Zunes, and portable DVD players for the dissemination of patient education.
