Abstract
Bharat stage emission standards are the emission norms which are issued by the Indian government in order to control and regulate the emission and output of air pollutants. The Government of India has made it compulsory to introduce and implement the new Bharat stage six norms in India from 1st April 2020. This research paper emphasises on the health effects caused by the current Bharat stage four engines on human beings and how the introduction of Bharat stage six engine norms in India will reduce the overall vehicle exhaust emissions. It also talks about Bharat stage six contributions to improve the air quality for the betterment of public health. The main focuses are on the critical differences in the emission norms of both Bharat stage four and Bharat stage six and emphasise on the technical aspects of it.
