Abstract
The hypothesis proposed in this paper is that human mind possesses an innate potential to heal itself, as well as to heal the body. The stated hypothesis will be put through the test of logical reasoning and critical analysis. The main intention for doing so is to establish a base of valid reasons that will serve as an inspiration and guidance for practical application for health professionals and healers, as well as for the patients who suffer from a variety of illnesses which cannot be easily cured using standard medicines and medical procedures. If we use our intelligence, and successfully take care, study, and cultivate the fertile ground of mind’s innate healing potential, the bountiful harvest could follow. And emerging fruits of that harvest will hopefully be the answers to the question: “What is the way to uncover and access the healing ability of the human mind?” The benefit of that process, unlike anything else, weakens the solidity of illness, and opens vast space for healing potential of the mind to emerge in its full potential. Since healing is not an obvious phenomenon, critical analysis of the mind’s healing potential will be presented in accordance with the Madhyamika Prasangika Buddhist philosophical tenet.
