Abstract

The archival documents are first presented in this publication. These are letters of the Nina Lazarevna Gurfinkel (1898–1984) – theater expert, literary critic, translator and publisher of works of Peter Bitsilli. The former student of the history and philology department of the Imperial Novorossiysk University she made a significant contribution to the publication in French of her teacher’s works. Correspondence with relatives of P.M.Bitsilli, refers to the 80s of the last century and concerns and unrealized ideas of publication of the works of the scholar. The unfulfilled project of publishing material about P. M. Bitsilli during the Soviet years had a direct impact on the further destiny of the scientist’s heritage. The creative impulse of N. L. Gurfinkel was interrupted, the translation of “The Factors of Russian History”“did not take place, and the originals of some of the letters and manuscripts of the scientist were returned to his daughter.
