Abstract“Property, Real Estate & Development” (MIC: SIC: 6798 NAIC: 525930)HCP is a self‐administered real estate investment trust, which together with its consolidated subsidiaries, invests primarily in real estate serving the healthcare industry in the U.S. Co. acquires, develops, leases, disposes and manages healthcare real estate and provides mortgage and specialty financing to healthcare providers. Co.'s portfolio includes investments in: senior housing that consists of independent living facilities, assisted living facilities and continuing care retirement communities; medical office buildings; hospitals; and skilled nursing facilities. At Dec 31 2007, Co.'s real estate portfolio, excluding assets held for sale, consisted of interests in 753 facilities.
