Abstract

Background/Objectives: There are conflicting data regarding the best protocol for timed intercourse (IC) and intrauterine insemination (IUI) during ovarian stimulation. Some reports suggest the occurrence of an LH-surge is a favorable event, associated with higher pregnancy rates than hCG-triggered cycles, while other reports suggest an adverse effect on egg quality and lower pregnancy rates. This retrospective study examines the effect of hCG administration, and its timing in relation to the day of the LH-surge, on the outcome of ovarian stimulation for IC and IUI.
