Abstract

Heparin binding EGF-like growth factor (HBEGF) promotes extravillous trophoblast differentiation and is crucial to cell survival. HBEGF expression is reduced in trophoblast of placentas from women with preeclampsia. We studied the effects of HBEGF on differentiation, invasion and survival in first trimester villous explants.
