Abstract
With this article, the Editorial Board and staff of The Leading Edge are very pleased to introduce a new series on Geotechnical Applications. We anticipate that the articles in this series will appear once every two or three issues, continuing for an extended period. The title is intentionally broad‐based because the subject matter of these articles is difficult to pinpoint. (It might be classified as unusual applications of techniques not necessarily employed in petroleum or mineral exploration by geophysicists. That obviously won’t fit in the Table of Contents. Thus the less specific, but more manageable title).
