Abstract

Arbitration is the best form of alternative dispute resolution. The main goal is that the parties do not turn to state courts with the legal dispute that has arisen, but settle it through the institutions designated for this purpose. During the arbitration procedure, the dispute is settled with an external participant who is not involved in it. In our country, there is currently a Permanent Court of Arbitration for Sport operating under the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a general commercial arbitration court. There is a Permanent Agricultural Arbitral Tribunal operated by the Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture, Food Industry and Rural Development. According to the provisions of the law on sports, in the cases specified therein, we can speak of the Sports Permanent Arbitral Tribunal. In this study, I would like to explain the functioning of the Permanent Court of Arbitration for Sport. In addition to Act on Arbitration, Act I of 2004 on Sports and the rules of procedure of the Permanent Court of Arbitration for Sport operating within the framework of the Hungarian Olympic Committee must also be examined.
