Abstract
Duncan Lindsey is an Associate Professor at the School of Public Policy and Social Research, Department of Social Welfare at the University of California, Los Angeles. He received his undergraduate training at the University of California and his doctorate at Northwestern University. He was a National Science Foundation post-doctoral fellow at Cornell University in the Social Systems Research Program. Recently he was a Pro fessor at the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto and a visiting scholar at the Child Welfare Research Center at the University of California at Berkeley. He is Editor-in-Chief of Children and Youth Services Review (Pergamon Press), author of a recent book with Oxford University Press entitled The Welfare of Children, and editor of a book series entitled Child Welfare published by Oxford University Press.
