Abstract

Embarking on a 20 h flight half-way across the planet is hard enough at the best times—there are only so many bad action movies one can watch on a tiny screen—but doing so while terminally ill makes the whole experience rather more inconvenient. I had had over a year of chemotherapy for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma: first the standard R-CHOP regimen, the vanilla ice-cream of chemotherapy; then R-EPOCH, after I was discovered to have a double-hit type of lymphoma (damn those translocations!); then methotrexate; then ICE; then… well you get the idea.
