Abstract
The article contains a historical review of the origin and development bicable aerial ropeways. Describes the pros and cons of the ropeway system in comparison with the monocable aerial ropeways. The later in the article presents a discussion on the conditionality bicable aerial ropeway construction in Poland. The analysis included all four currently operated in Poland bicable aerial ropeways. We attempt to answer the question whether the bicable system is the optimal solution for those aerial ropeways.
