Abstract

Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine how consumption has changed angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) fixed combination with another drug, in an area of health between 2006 and 2008. Methods: Design: Cross-sectional descriptive study. They are used all prescriptions billed in an area of primary health care. We analyze the recipes billed between 2006 and 2008 inclusive. Results: See table. The population of hypertensive patients over 14 years has been in the year 2006 194,853 in 2007 194,395 and in 2008 195,845 people. The results are expressed in DHD (number of defined daily doses per 1000 inhabitants per day). Conclusions: The combined spending on fixed forms of ARBs with other drugs is increasing due to increased use and convenience of our patients. We should encourage greater use of fixed since it has been shown to improve the performance of our patients.
