Abstract

The article is concerned with whether fiction for children has come of age, at the same time asking what children's literature actually is. A discussion of crossover books is used to show one overlap between adult and children's literature. The particular perspective of the adult author of a children's text is considered, and the conclusion drawn that there is such a thing as writing specifically for young readers.
