Abstract
The Department of Editions and Digital Humanities of the German Literature Archive in Marbach has gained great merits in developing models for the long-term availability and reliability of digital texts through the methods of digital humanities, as well as in providing scientifically sound editions. In 2018 the hybrid edition of the diary of Harry Graf Kessler has been completed allowing the full access to this invaluable account of European social and cultural history from 1880 to 1937. It provides the basis for a thorough analysis of Kessler's lifestyle which was determined both by his sexual orientation and his noble descent. The article follows the roots of his lifestyle in previous centuries and the development of his taste as an idiosyncratic example of Camp.
